Apple Cobbler

Topping:

1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teas vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup oats
3/4 teas cinnamon

Apple Filling:

8 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 tbls cornstarch
1-1/2 teas cinnamon
1/4 teas allspice

Preheat oven to 350. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat margarine with sugar in a large bowl till creamy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour, oats and cinnamon thoroughly. In a seperate bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and allspice. Mix well. Evenly spoon apple mixture into a shallow 3 qt casserole. Spoon topping mixture evenly over appple filling. Bake one hour or till golden brown.
