Snickerdoodles

1 cup butter, softened
1-1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teas cream of tartar
1 teas baking soda
1/2 teas salt
2 teas sugar
2 teas cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar and eggs together in large mixing bowl. Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt together then gradually add to butter mixture. Cover dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Roll dough into 1" balls then coat in sugar-cinnamon. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned but still soft. Cool on wire rack.
