1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teas vanilla
2-3/4 cups flour, divided*
1/2 teas salt
1 tbls baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
3/4 teas cinnamon, divided
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
Preheat oven to 350
Cream 1/3 cup butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla.
Combine 2-1/4 cups flour, baking powder, salt and 1/4 teas cinnamon; add alternately with milk to butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Pour batter into greased and floured 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake 20 minutes.
Combine brown sugar, remaining 1/2 cup flour,and 1/2 teas cinnamon; cut in 1/4 cup butter until mixture resembles course crumbs. Sprinkle over cake; continue baking 10 minutes or until cake tests done. Serve warm.
*If using self-rising flour, omit salt and baking powder.
